two happy pos-vibe filled tracks for you to listen to and enjoy! they are free as always, but if you’d like to throw some $$$ my way, that would be appreciated!! i’m gonna visit a very special person soon and could use all the help i could get~
Finntroll is one of the few groups where I feel they coulda done the same shit for years and it woulda never gotten old. They sorta got a little more into the black metal thing as they went on, but I ain’t heard their new shit so I dunno where they’re at right now. Jatkens Tid and Nattfodd are still just so much fun to listen to tho. If there was any metal to dance to it would be THIS
though it’s a bit tired, i appreciate the aesthetic of the dreamy, pentatonic dance that is indie melodies; what I don’t appreciate is the dismissal of the blues. You don’t have to go all Arcade fire (or whoever the fuck) Haitian, but you owe it to the history of the style to play with these [afro-american & beyond] elements at the least. Maybe it’s no longer the rhythms, or the chords, or even providing the harmonic backdrop that just hints at the existence of blue notes, but there is something that has cut the final tie that the style has/had to its past.
Aghh, I could get into it but it’s fairly complex and I am far too uninitiated on the general trend that I criticize. MAYBE it’s not time to panic yet…maybe the white swing/pop (jazz pop) revival is even worse.
trying out kicktone. It, like many things, asked me for a bio, and as per usual I just made another one up ”Lokk9 is what happens when a kid who likes a lot of things makes things. Listen to lokk9 if you like music and sound. If you think analyzing form and aesthetic sounds really fun, listen to lokk9. If you are all alone in the world and you need someone to assure you that there is a good reason for that, listen to lokk9. If you’re climbing up a ladder and you feel something splatter, listen to lokk9.”
"I’d say this is the most straightforward track of the whole album. If I was gonna be artsy I would say it is a distillation of my skill, instinct, and emotion (at the time of recording…which I believe was the 9th of November). Of course I’ll be straight up and say that this is pretty pure improvisation. I woke up one morning and grabbed my guitar from ‘side my bed, played a chord (the first one of the song) and said "hey, that sounds cool", decided to make a note of it on my phone for future reference, and ended up jammin out this whole thing. It’s titled "Memo" because when I emailed it to myself (phone OS is too out of date to really interact with my computer) it was called "Memo.m4a". THE END"
And that’s the final track!! you’ll never have to hear about this again, yeahhh!!!!!
